Get help inside Portia

Open the integrated Help drawer for setup, editor features, keyboard shortcuts, intelligence behavior, privacy, troubleshooting, and support guidance. Portia keeps Help inside the current window.

Common recovery steps

A file or folder will not open

Choose the file or writing folder again through the system file picker. Portia requests access only to locations you select.

Codex is unavailable on Mac

Open Admin Drawer > AI. Check the visible connection state, review the OpenAI data-sharing disclosure, then choose Retry Connection or Sign In with ChatGPT when offered. The editor remains available while Codex is signed out or offline.

Apple Intelligence is unavailable on iPhone or iPad

Portia checks system capability at runtime. Support can depend on the device, operating-system version, region, language, model download, and system setting. Local writing features remain available.

A writing change cannot be applied

A proposal becomes stale when the document, editor revision, selection, or stored file changes. Keep the newer text, discard the stale proposal, and submit a fresh request.

Preview, Pages, import, or export fails

Save the current document, record the exact file type and visible error, then retry with a short non-private fixture. Keep the original file until you inspect the exported result.

Privacy

Read the Portia privacy policy. Optional Codex requests on Mac send content only after disclosure, consent, and a submitted request. Web search is off by default.
