Effective 26 October 2026 · Native Mac application

What this policy covers

This policy covers the native Glassport Mac application. The Recluse Studio website privacy notice covers ordinary website hosting records. These Glassport pages add no analytics, advertising, contact form or embedded third-party media.

Glassport does not send your screen, clipboard, documents or saved collections to a Recluse Studio server. The app has no automatic support upload or developer analytics endpoint.

Pictures, clipboard text and documents

The live iPad display is received and decoded on your Mac. Ordinary live pictures are not automatically saved. Capture saves the current picture only when you request it.

Clipboard operations happen through the app’s controls, keyboard commands or an authorized local tool request. Text is sent to the focused iPad app when you paste. Glassport does not append Return. Fresh Copy checks for a changed iPad clipboard before returning the selected text.

Files and folders move between locations you select on your Mac and supported Documents areas on the paired iPad. Captures, imported documents and saved text collections are kept in local app storage; exported copies are kept where you save them.

Pairing configuration and local storage

You import the existing pairing configuration with a native file chooser. It contains sensitive device trust material. Glassport validates its format and stores it in the edition’s private app storage with restrictive file permissions. Glassport does not currently store that file in Keychain or add its own encryption to local saved files.

Keep pairing files and local tool credentials private. The personalized app and the separate clean edition use different app identities and storage locations.

Your network and local tools

The encrypted device connection travels over your existing Tailscale network. Glassport may query the installed Tailscale application for read-only device inventory. It does not install Tailscale, change VPN settings or send device content through a Glassport relay. Tailscale and the iPad apps you use have their own privacy practices.

The optional MCP interface listens on an authenticated loopback endpoint on your Mac. A local tool with its credentials can request pictures, clipboard text, saved artifacts and device actions. A tool may send what it receives to another service under that tool’s own settings and policy. Give access only to tools you choose to trust.

File metadata and timing

Glassport checks selected file metadata and available disk space to detect changed sources, verify copies and refuse writes when space is insufficient. It uses elapsed-time measurements for picture freshness, timeouts and recovery. These disk-space values, file timestamps and timing measurements are not uploaded to Recluse Studio.

Your choices and saved information

You choose when to connect, paste, copy, capture, transfer and export. Disconnect ends the app’s device session. You can remove exported files through Finder. Disconnecting or uninstalling the app does not necessarily remove its saved local data or files exported elsewhere.

For help locating and removing Glassport’s app storage, email support. We cannot remotely inspect or delete files held only on your devices, and you do not need to send those files to request instructions.

Support messages and privacy requests

If you email support@recluse.studio, your address and message are processed by the email providers used to deliver the correspondence. Recluse Studio uses that information to answer your request and maintain the support record.

Send a description and app version rather than personal documents, screenshots, pairing files or endpoint tokens. Ask for access, correction or deletion of support correspondence by writing to the same address. We may need to retain information where the law requires it.

Changes to this policy will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
