Support
Start with the connection, then the operation that needs help.
Before you connect
- An Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later.
- A physical iPad in the supported iPadOS 27 developer-device environment, with the required services already available.
- The Mac and iPad reachable over your existing Tailscale network.
- A valid existing developer-device pairing configuration for that exact iPad and host.
Existing pairing is required. Glassport does not currently provide a new-device pairing wizard or enable Developer Mode. Automatic USB and network discovery may be unavailable even when an imported connection works.
Connect your paired iPad
- Open Connection and choose Import paired device.
- Select the existing configuration for your iPad. Keep that file private.
- Choose Check native services to inspect compatibility, then choose Connect.
- Wait for a current iPad picture and verified geometry before using the keyboard or pointer.
Keep one Glassport controller connected to the iPad at a time. Disconnect another edition before connecting this one. An imported device name or address alone does not establish an authenticated connection.
Picture, input and recovery
Click to tap, drag to swipe and use the wheel to scroll. Home returns to the iPad Home screen. Apps lists installed applications. Screen-only mode hides the workspace controls; Escape restores the previous panel and focus.
If input pauses, open Diagnostics and check picture age, geometry and the connection state. A stale picture disables input. Glassport attempts bounded automatic recovery after a temporary connection loss. If recovery stops, check Tailscale reachability and reconnect deliberately.
Do not repeat an action whose result is uncertain. Observe the current iPad state first; Glassport does not automatically replay uncertain input.
Copy and paste
Paste sends the text you supply to the focused iPad app without adding Return. Enter is a separate action. For a fresh copy, select text in the iPad app and use Copy selected text from iPad, then Copy to Mac clipboard.
If no text appears, check the iPad selection and its clipboard representation. Some apps do not expose supported public text. Reading the existing clipboard can return an earlier copy; Fresh Copy waits for a changed clipboard identity.
Files and folders
Choose an installed app that exposes supported Documents sharing. Drop Mac files and folders into the Files table, or drag iPad items from that table to Finder. Drop onto a folder row to use that folder as the destination. A streamed iPad icon is not a file-transfer source.
Use a new destination name, stay within the transfer limits and wait for completion. Copies preserve their sources. Cancellation removes owned staging files when the device remains reachable; a disconnected device may need reconnection before cleanup can finish. An interrupted transfer is not a completed copy.
Contact Recluse Studio
Email support@recluse.studio with Glassport support in the subject. Include the app version, macOS and iPadOS versions, the operation, the visible error and what you expected to happen.
Describe the problem before sending attachments. Remove personal content, device identifiers, pairing files, trust keys and local endpoint credentials. Glassport sends no support report automatically. For questions about data handling, read the privacy policy or use the same email address.
